F.I.D.A. Team Launch
Dear Rupo Friend,
We are pleased to announce that we are in the early stages of organizing a football team for intellectually disabled athletes. This team will play against other such teams in a competition known as F.I.D.A. – Football Integration Development Association.
On Saturday 11th July we are inviting potential players to come and try out, and spend some time at the club for the day.
Try outs commence at 9.30am and will go for just over 1 hour. The players and their families are invited to join us for some lunch and refreshments and to stay and watch our seniors take on NOBS/St Pats.
We wish to extend an invitation to you to join us at what we are hoping will be the start of an exciting new team at Rupertswood. So if you have some time to spare during the day, we hope you can come along and meet some of our budding new stars. If you think you can join us for lunch, we would appreciate your RSVP, as we need to make appropriate culinary arrangements.
On behalf of the Committee of Rupertswood Football Club, it is with pleasure we advise that Darren Zarb has been appointed CoOrdinator of Junior Football Operations for the remainder of the season.
Darren is a great Rupo person and is excited about the opportunity to guide the juniors in the short to medium term.
Darren will obviously undergo substantial learning over the coming months, and we hope and trust you will give him every support and assistance in this role.
In case you need to contact Darren you can do so on 0400 405 775 or

Jarrod Silvester Debuts for Richmond
On behalf of everyone at Rupertswood we wish Jarrod every success in his debut for Richmond on the weekend. Jarrod played his junior football with Rupertswood. His last game with us was playing in the Under 19s in 2005 before returning to Coburg.
Jarrod has been on the rookie list at Richmond for a number of years and has been the cornerstone of the Coburg VFL’s defence. He has finally got his opportunity against St Kilda this week.

Ricmonds website said:
Silvester was elevated from the rookie list on Thursday to fill the spot created by Matthew Richardson's move to the long-term injury list several weeks ago.
The 24-year-old is listed as 192cm and 90kg, but has packed on a bit more weight this year.
Football manager Ross Monaghan told richmondfc.com.au that the Tigers had been looking for a chance to give Silvester a shot.
"We've got another first-gamer, which is good," Monaghan said.
"Jarrod Silvester will play – he'll be named in the back six.
"His form at Coburg has been terrific this year and we've just been waiting for an opportunity for him to play. We just decided to give him a challenge this week against one of the better teams in the competition.
