Q: Who Owns The Coffee Bar? A: The Coffee Bar is 100% owned by Rupertswood Football Club, and the Club receives 100% of any profits.
Q: Who Gets Paid? A: No one gets paid as such. Chris and Sue Aulich manage the Coffee Bar and also man it most weekends, on a volunteer basis. Chris and Sue have even undertaken a recognised Barista training course in their own time and at their own expense (these courses are not cheap), and are both certified Barista’s. A small honorarium is paid to “staff” who help Chris and Sue on the weekends, for time worked. Q: Who Are The “Staff”? A: Most of the “staff” are older high school age students who do not have regular paid work, and are looking for some practical experience - a bit like work experience at school. Chris and Sue provide “on the job” training and help them gain experience in customer service, money handling, and so on. Our aim is to provide interested young people with practical experience which we believe will help them get a start in their future working lives. To allow Chris and Sue some time to watch their own son’s play, and continue with the training and practical experience aspect for the younger staff, we will engage the services of an older person who is also a qualified Barista with practical experience. This person will also receive a small honorarium for time worked. Q: How Do I Become “Staff” ? A: If you are in Year 10 or above, not working, and would like to learn the art of making coffee, make yourself known to Chris or Sue! Q: Who Are Hungry’s Café ? A: Hungry’s Café (formally Hungry Hounds) have an informal sponsorship arrangement with the Club whereby most of the equipment used was provided by Hungry’s Café at a greatly reduced price. They have also assisted with the set-up, choosing suppliers, and provide on going expertise where needed. Hungry’s Café assist with the ordering and delivery of consumables (cups, coffee, chocolate, etc). |
