Senior Div Player Details
Sunday, 11 December 2011 15:32

As part of of planning and preparation for 2012 season, we are asking all senior division players to take a few minutes to provide us with your current details from the appropriate link below. This information is important for a couple of reasons - to ensure we have your latest contact details at our disposal and to minimise time taken when you are actually required to register to play with the club for 2012 season, which we will be asking all senior div players to complete in February and March.

We ask that all players that are currently training, particularly if you are from another club, that you do this too.

When you click on the link below, you will be directed to a page which has multiple options. There are 3 options for senior division players :

Senior Players, Under 19 Players & Under 18 Players.

Please select the option that is correct for you. If Under 18/19 players are uncertain about the correct age group, use these dates as your guide : D.O.B. between 01/07/1993 and 31/12/1995 = Under 18, D.O.B. between 01/07/1992 and 31/12/1993 = Under 19. Please note that these dates are for our records, it does not mean that, in the case of U18 by age, will necessarily only play U18.

If you have any questions about this, please call Robert Twentyman 0417 122 026. Please take care to ensure details are correct.

2 of our Under 18 players - Brandon Webber & Jordan Gay, represented the club and the VAFA in 2 matches against a New Zealand U21 team recently. This is an annual event organised by the VAFA, and is great reward for some of our young senior division players.

They won both games convincingly, and Jordan was voted BOG by the New Zealand coaching staff in the second game. Well done Jordy!

For scores and more detail go to the VAFA website.

Inaugural Player Life Membership
Saturday, 24 September 2011 20:14

At the 2011 senior division presentations, the club awarded retiring senior club captain David Collins with the club's first ever Player Life Membership.

In a entertaining tribute to David, Warren Gaunt made the surpise announcement at the conclusion of the tribute, leaving "Collo" absolutely "Gobsmacked" and the subject of a rupturous standing ovation. A truly wonderful, emotional and historic moment in our club's young history.

Below are some images of the presentation and some facts about Collo's career.

Saturday, 24 September 2011 19:56

At the senior presentation night, the club recognised Peter Phillips as the 2011 Best Club Person in the Senior Division. Peter has served the club in many different roles over many years, in 2011 in addition to his main role as bar manager, Peter has assisted our Reserves team in almost every capacity this year, helped canteen manager Pat with various deliveries, and many other things that needed doing. All this without any boys playing at the club any more, and indeed has not had them playing for Rupo for about 8 years.

CONGRATULATIONS PETER!

Under 18s go "Back to Back!"
Sunday, 11 September 2011 09:00

Congratulations to our Under 18 team for winning their 2nd consecutive premiership! Under the tutelage of Rod Williams and John Wilson, the team played inspired football and won by a comfortable margin of 26 points, but only after Williamstown came strongly at them kicking 6 goals in the last quarter.

Rupo's tall forwards, Wilson, Gregory & Pretty had a great day each kicking multiple goals, and whilst the whole team played their roles brilliantly, special mentions (at the risk of leaving someone out) must go to Tom Sefaniw, who was voted best afield by the umpires, Jordan Gay, Michael Tabone, Nick Agnello & Brendan Smith for standout performances.

An interesting piece of trivia - our #1 lady ticket holder and her friend (now known as Dumb & Dumber) took 3 quarters to realise she should have been barracking for the red clash jumpers!
